![]() Chief Michael Stassi Chief Michael J. Stassi commenced his firefighting career in the Brewerton Fire Department and Brewerton Fire Department Ambulance at age 16. He has worked his way through the ranks as a Foreman, Lieutenant, Captain, Captain of the Dive Team and an Assistant Chief. He has been the Director of Operations for the Brewerton Ambulance for 13 years. He is presently certified in NIMS ICS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800. He has been to the National Fire Academy for Management, Supervisory and Leading Change classes. In 1996 he was given an “EMS Meritorious Service” award for saving a life on Oneida Lake during a major storm. He has also received three “Most Active Firefighter” awards, a “Most Active Ambulance Member” award, the “Richard G. Turnball” Award (for his work in the Ambulance service) and the “Member of the Year” Award in 2006/2007. Chief Michael J. Stassi was an AEMTD-II for Eastern Paramedics and Rural Metro Medical Services.
